Core Workouts For Women – 2 of the Best Core Strengthening Exercises!
In this article, I’m going to profile some of the absolute best core exercises for women but before I get into it, I feel as though I should take a minute to clarify some things. By reading this article, I think it’s pretty safe to assume that you’re looking to strengthen and tone up your midsection a bit. The core-specific exercises that will be profiled are great for developing functional strength but in order to flatten your stomach and get that desired "six pack" look, you need to obtain a very low body fat percentage.
In order to do that, you have to create a calorie deficit. Basically, what that means is that you have to burn more calories then you ingest. This is accomplished by watching what you eat (obviously) and by training hard in the gym. With regards to "watching what you eat", you want to be consuming frequent, nutrient dense portions of food throughout the day.
Focus on consuming protein, low glycemic carbs, unsaturated fats and of course, drink plenty of water throughout the day. As for the workouts, you want to be performing the exercises that utilize the most energy (calories) to perform. These are usually movements like squats, lunges, pull ups, push ups – basically the exercises that train multiple large muscle groups at once are best. As for the actual core-specific exercises, let’s get into them now, shall we?
Core Workouts For Women
Medicine Ball Abs Blaster: I’ve spent about 10 years working as a personal trainer in various gyms and when I get cancellations, rather then going all the way home and returning for my next client, I’ll just stick around. To kill time, I usually play around and try to come up with new exercises to incorporate into the routines that I design for my clients. Well, one afternoon I discovered what I now refer to as the "medicine ball abs blaster". This is without a doubt the best abdominal exercise I have ever performed and my clients all feel the same way.
Standing Olympic Bar Twists: This is also a great, yet rather unorthodox exercise that tones and strengthens the entire core. It implements that "core rotation" movement that we use so frequently in our day to day lives, which makes this exercise extremely functional. You don’t see many people performing this exercise simply because they don’t know about it. Consider yourself let in on an awesome secret.
